I had always wanted to experience painting outside, just living in the moment, painting exactly what I saw as it appeared in front of me. This hot summer day, I sat on a short stump by the water for three hours as I brought the canvas to life with the colors of nature. It was challenging as the sun and wind dried my paint quickly, but it was so worth it. When I see this painting now, it brings me back to that moment.
