On my birthday of 2023, I decided to head up to Shasta Lake for some shore fishing. Not too long after arrival, I managed to hook into a big, beautiful rainbow trout. The water swirled in deep shades of blue as it was scooped into my net. Looking at my catch, I was amazed by all of the bright colors and the many little glimmering scales shining in the rays of the early morning sun. I released the trout, happy to see it and all of its pretty colors disappear back down into the deep. This painting truly captures the beauty of the fish that I caught that day.
