The winter bass fishing on Shasta has become a favorite of mine, and this painting was inspired by a day out on the water in January of 2025. I remember it so vividly, and the sky looked so very beautiful. I knew I had to paint it, so here it is — a rare self portrait of myself as I fished under a swirling blue sky. The water rippled faintly in the light breeze, and it was a lovely day to be on the water. I hope that you can feel the peaceful movement as much as I can when I look into this piece.
